I GET MARRIED IN 10 DAYS!!!!
Isn't that crazy?! One of my friends said "You're get marriend next Saturday!" and that was the first time I heard it said like that... it sounds soooo close, I got excited!
One of the main questions I get is "Are you getting nervous?" And I really am not. Everything that can be done is pretty much done...I think it's all done! In spite of the coolness I really feel about it all I keep having these reocurring dreams: It's my wedding day we are at the wrong church...it's my wedding day and I forgot to print out the programs so I am frantically looking for a printer until I realize, hey I can't even remember having my dress rehersal and what it was like...wait a minute if I can't remember what my dress rehersal is like then I must not have had it, then that means this must be a dream and there is, in fact, time to print out the programs tommorrow... Really this is my thought process in the dream in the form of a voice over. So needless to say I really am chill about the wedding but those dreams have an impact akin to when you are about to go on a trip and you are all packed but you still feel like you are forgetting something....that's the only nervousness I feel, like...am I forgetting something? But I comfort myself by thinking "Well what's done is done and what is not done, I guess I can do without :)
I leave you with the words of William Shakespeare from his play As You Like It. I wanted to put this quote on my save the dates...I read it to my mom and upon her staring blankly at me and stating that not everyone is an english major I resorted to the tree ones I sent. But I do feel that this quote adequately explains the time inbetween engagement and marriage so I shall give it to you in full, unedited... let those who can decipher enjoy!
ROSALIND I pray you, what is't o'clock?
ORLANDO You should ask me what time o' day: there's no clock in the forest.
ROSALIND Then there is no true lover in the forest; else sighing every minute
and groaning every hour would detect the lazy foot of Time as well as a clock.
ORLANDO And why not the swift foot of Time? had not that been as proper?
ROSALIND By no means, sir: Time travels in divers paces with divers persons. I'll tell you
who Time ambles withal, who Time trots withal, who Time gallops withal and who
he stands still withal.
ORLANDO I prithee, who doth he trot withal?
ROSALIND Marry, he trots hard with a young maid between the contract of her marriage and
the day it is solemnized: if the interim be but a se'nnight, Time's pace is so hard
that it seems the length of seven year.

....SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS....
"Perhaps, after all, romance did not come into one’s life with a pomp and a blare, like a gay knight riding down; perhaps it crept to one’s side like an old friend through quiet ways; perhaps it revealed itself in seeming prose, until some sudden shaft of illumination flung athwart its pages betrayed the rhythm and the music; perhaps… perhaps… love unfolded naturally out of a beautiful friendship, as a golden-hearted rose slipping from its green sheath.”
This is a quote that I feel adequately describes Tezar and I. It's from one of my all time favorite books Anne of Green Gables.
Tezar and I met my junior year of college. He was this Muslim kid who just came to Christ. Which was pretty cool. We were mostly acquaintances. A few times we would run into each other and chat. I remember thinking that he was cute and nice and I enjoyed talking with him but that was the extent of it. A few encounters I remember: He gave his testimony at a conference, and it inspired me. He dressed up as an illegal mexican at a Halloween party complete with wife beater, mustache and green card, he taught me some new dance moves at a friends house but those encounters were few and far between. Eventually our paths began to cross a little more. I even asked him to be my date at a friends rehearsal dinner. It was a fun night but no sparks flew. Then one day, like a year later, at a friends house for dinner, I remember standing in front of a bookshelf with him. The bookshelf was full of movies and for the longest time we went through the movies we enjoyed and the crap ones. HHhhmmmm, his taste is similar to mine I thought. Then he sealed the night playing Such Great Heights on the guitar. Good music taste too...On a drive back home from a friends wedding in Missouri he sat up front as I drove back home and we talked the whole three hours back...some friends were into salsa dancing and when he was there we'd dance making up moves and laughing as we bumped heads or stubbed each others toes... It was nice running into him every now and then. Eventually we'd hang out in coffee shops together until a couple of weeks later in the midst of me raising support to go to Puerto Rico for 2 years, at Brother Juniper's he told me he liked me... I had thought maybe he did but it was nice to hear him say it. We've been together ever since. And our friendship is continually getting sweeter.
